SAILOR MALAN came from modest beginnings on a farm near Cape Town, to emerge as one of the RAF's great WWII pilots. But in returning to South Africa after the war, Sailor found the politics to be contrary to the human rights he had risked his life fighting for. In making a stand, Sailor Malan had his reputation tarnished, and then removed from the national conversation.
