This is the story of an established Springbok tradition lost to antiquity in the midst of South Africa's tragic 20th century.  The Springbok war cry was first performed by Paul Roos' original Springboks in 1906, but it grew into a genuine tradition alongside their new rivalry with the All Blacks and ceased only with the rise of Apartheid in 1948.
